The canyons of Sixmile Creek offer a “pool-drop” style of rapids, providing moments of calmness between intense stretches of whitewater.

The first and second canyons feature significant Class IV rapids, with decent-sized pools and distances between each rapid.

The third canyon, however, takes the adventure to another level. It’s packed with Class V consecutive rapids, shorter distances between rapids, and smaller pools, adding to the thrill and excitement of the experience.

At FlowAK, we offer three incredible Sixmile Creek rafting options, each tailored to different adventure levels:

WHITEWATER RAFTING TRIP 1 – SIX MILE CREEK: Class III, IV, and V rapids.

Come raft world-class Sixmile Creek with us! Sixmile Creek is one of the most incredible whitewater runs in North America. The run consists of three canyon sections with numerous rapids in each area.

The first two canyons have Class III and IV rapids at lower water levels, and the third has Class V rapids. At higher water levels, we consider all three canyons Class V. This is a serious whitewater adventure.

This trip is not to be taken lightly. Guests are expected to be in good physical condition; if you have any questions about your physical ability to engage in this adventure, please consult your physician.

WHITEWATER RAFTING TRIP 2 – UPPER SIX MILE CREEK: Class I-II

Your local guides will share their love of Alaska with you. This is generally a class I-II section. This trip is appropriate for families of different ages and fitness abilities.

Come float this unique body of water with us. This trip is tidal dependent, so start times vary daily, so call us for timing. This class trip is appropriate for families of different ages and fitness abilities.

Turnagain Arm has the highest tidal range in the United States and the fourth highest in the world. Come float this unique body of water with us. 					Wow, I don't even know where to start! This adventure was absolutely incredible. I was a bit nervous at first, facing class 5 rapids, but the team instantly put me at ease. They made sure I felt comfortable and relaxed throughout the entire experience. They provided us with top-notch equipment and gave us thorough explanations, all while making it enjoyable. 					One of the best rafting experiences of my life 100/100!



Our guide Chris was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and incredibly competent. He kept us safe as we navigated absolutely gnarly class 4/5 rapids.



The whole company almost feels more like a family in the best possible way. They care deeply for each other and love their job. That so clearly carried into how they took care of all of us. We weren’t just a random tourist guest, or a just a means to a paycheck but we were valued adventure partners alongside a guide, sharing in a meaningful experience.



I want to shout out our guide one last time. Chris was fantastic on so many levels. He put us at ease and prepared us for every rapid. Chris was knowledgeable about the land we were paddling through and if he didn’t know something would, try and find it out. He also had some hilarious jokes to break the break the dramatic tension of the class 5 rapids.

					Had such an amazing time! All of the guides were so fun and we felt safe and prepared. Scenery is beautiful.

The water level was too high the day we were originally scheduled to raft, but Flow AK worked with us to get us in the very next day.

					Thank you thank you thank you!!! Such an amazing time. Bucketlist item for sure. Our guides, Ion and Mike were extremely experienced and made our group feel comfortable throughout the entirety of all the canyons. The gear is all new and kept me completely dry from neck all the way to my toes!!! Which I was shocked and grateful for. The scenery of this river is absolutely to die for. We saw many animals along our way, so not only did we raft class five rapids, we had a sightseeing tour as well! Ion knew the name of every bird and creek we passed. (Blown away at his ability on all levels.)

					This is amazing!! Beautiful views, & nicest folks who run this small operation rafting company. Incredibly talented guides. Thank you Mike for giving us the best time on the rapids, and Jake for doing a great job on the other raft! Scotty was fun to watch on the safety raft, and Brad took some awesome photos. As a past raft guide myself, I was super impressed by this company and how quickly they got us on the river. We didn’t have to wait around in the office for them to wrangle people together, they were efficient and got us right out there. And the way they navigated those Class V rapids was exciting yet safe. Couldn’t ask for anything better!

					Such an epic time with this crew!



Level 5 can be a bit intimidating but Mike, Scotty and Jake make it so seamless!



The process of getting ready was quick, the instructions were straight forward and the water test was great to get a feel of the water!



The whole ride down was way longer then expected and absolutely gorgeous! The first half of the ride is relaxing with some small rapids then the third section is where is where gets real fun!



Mike was so experienced and knew the river so well that we never came close to flipping and felt so safe!



The more you participate the better it is!

From the quaint and quite location of the outpost, to the relaxed pace of the whole experience, I would recommend this to anyone interested in a very awesome and unique way to explore the gorgeous and otherwise inaccessible area.

					Mike was our guide on the raft. He was awesome with safety and precautions without freaking us out. Talked about the land and the fish which our whole crew enjoyed and gave us the best splashes of the day! Hatter was the safety boat (I believe) and the guy that took our photos (name I cannot remember, sorry), they made the place feel like home. All of them gave a warm welcome and took us on a wild Alaska adventure! Very well put together and an extremely fun time.

					This is a first class outfit. Their guides are very experienced, super skilled, and delightfully funny. From beginning to the end, I knew I was trusting professionals to keep us safe in very turbulent waters while giving us the ride of a lifetime. The water was quite high, so it was a fast and exciting trip, but our guide Scotty was incredibly skillful in guiding our raft through all the hard parts and making the best use of the passenger paddle power. The dry suits and other equipment are in terrific condition, and it is clear they have invested in creating a great reputation. It is obvious that the whole crew loves their work, and they are very attentive to making sure that every guest has a great experience.
