COME RAFT WORLD CLASS SIXMILE CREEK WITH US!

Sixmile creek is one of the greatest whitewater runs in North America. In addition to amazing whitewater, Sixmile creek is a pristine natural waterway. Four of the five species of pacific salmon call Sixmile home. Bears, moose, eagles and other wildlife rear their young and live their lives in the Sixmile drainage. Carving its way through the Chugach national forest, Sixmile creek rafting in Alaska is an amazing trip even without the whitewater, but don’t forget to bring your “A game” because this is a true whitewater adventure!

Let's Go

MEET THE TEAM THAT MAKES IT ALL COME TOGETHER.

The three founders of Flow AK have over 50 seasons of combined experience on Six Mile Creek, as well as several other classic Alaskan rivers. After working and playing together for so many years, the opportunity to start Flow AK presented itself, and it was obvious that it was time to launch.

Six Mile Creek is the core of our operation and a great place to keep the “tools sharp”, but Alaska is a big place with so much to offer. Let us help you form the perfect Alaskan adventure itinerary when you’re ready to experience this wonderful place we call home.

Meet Alaska's Flow AK whitewater rafting guides

SCOTTY SMITH

What can we say, Scotty is from the South. He became a river guide at the age of 20 after finishing his education in Commercial Tourism. Scotty took an internship with Southeastern Expeditions and the addiction of whitewater was ignited. He began guiding and kayaking rivers from West Virginia to Georgia and then made a life changing journey to Alaska where he fell in love with the Chugach Mountains and Sixmile Creek. Always stoked to share the wonders of Alaska, he decided to make the Kenai Peninsula his home. Scotty resides in Hope, AK with his wife Christy and son Teak who all enjoy rafting, hiking, and skiing in the Chugach Nat’l Forest.

MIKE WELCH

A lifelong river rat, Mike started canoeing at a young age.  In 1994 he landed his first guiding job at Alaska Rivers Company in Cooper Landing, Alaska.  His six years with Alaska Rivers Company under master guide Gary Galbraith was what broke him for “real life”.  During his last year at Alaska Rivers Company Mike learned how to whitewater kayak.  Whitewater opened up another facet of the guiding world to him and Mike has been on the downhill slide ever since!  During the winter months Mike has Ski Patrolled, honing his medical skills and avalanche knowledge.  14 years ago Mike joined the team at Chugach Powder Guides and now serves there as a Lead Guide and Snow Safety Director.  Deciding to found a new river adventure business was an easy decision for Mike as one of his greatest joys is sharing his love of adventure and the natural world with others.

BRAD COSGROVE

Brad grew up exploring the rivers and mountains of the Pacific Northwest and he started working in the outfitting and guiding industry at the age of 13. His passion for wild places drew him to Alaska over 20 years ago. He now calls Alaska home and there is nothing he enjoys more than sharing all it has to offer including of course Six Mile Creek. Brad lives in Hope Alaska with his wife Shannon and two boys Will and Tal. Six Mile Creek and Alaska are his backyard.
